Born in Italy in a family of ceramists for generations (Castelli, TE), I studied art. I am currently based in New York City.
Clay and oil colors are my first love. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive for my artistic process. I use recycle objects, stones, wood, bones and plastic for a 3D effect. I called it Matericatini.
The SculPaintings series has a thick texture and mixed objects: the result is usually an abstract figurative character.
Lately I am experimenting a faster and much free way to express myself, always using my old knowledge. Colors, lines and shapes are my interest in the Abstract Roots series.
In the village series my pieces are directly influenced by Italy, abruzzo. I painted my interpretation of ancient villages, of the nature, of the roads with stones and rooves adding brilliant colors and personal shapes. I am very interested in human nature and spirituality, in emotions, sensations and exploring various states of mind trough abstraction.
